Atlas Mountains Arabian PeninsulaThe Atlas mountains span across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia preventing the Mediterranean Coastline and the Sahara Desert from meeting. Berber people such as Moroccans and Algerians live on opposite sides of the mountain. Even tough the Atlas Mountain range is 1,200 miles long and 4, 167 feet above sea level it doesn't prevent all communications from Morocco and Algeria as their are still human migrations.
The Arabian Peninsula which is considered a subcontinent of Asia is Surrounded by the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, and the Persian Gulf. Since there isn't much groundwater there Saudi Arabia is building Desalination Plants on the coasts. Yemen and Oman don't have the resources to build these plants by the Arabian Sea which is the ideal body of water to do this to so the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf are getting Desalinized. These bodies of water might not be big enough for there to be more water than salt and for the marine life to sustain life. |
Persian Gulf

OilOil is by far the best way to become wealthy in Southwest Asia. Right now Southwest Asia alone produces 2 million barrels a day along with 500 million cubic feet of natural gas. The Arabian Peninsula is a humongous oil reserve and all of the countries especially Saudi Arabia are taking advantage of it. Most of the oil produced in Southwest Asia is deported via the Persian Gulf. Oil is the main reason why most of the Arabian Peninsula's countries are either mostly developed or developed.
